Everything you need to know before your first rental at Northeast ATV Rentals.
Everything you need to know before your first off-road adventure.
Thinking about booking your first ATV/UTV ride but not sure what to expect? We’ve got you covered! At Northeast ATV Rentals, we’ve helped thousands of first-timers hit the trails with confidence, excitement, and a smile on their face. Here’s what your day will look like—step by step.
📝 1. Check-In, Waivers, and Safety Video
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by our friendly staff who will walk you through the check-in process and answer any last-minute questions. As part of check-in, all drivers are required to watch a short safety video that covers key trail rules, riding etiquette, and general operation tips.
Booked a reservation in advance? Even better—you can complete your driver waivers and watch the safety video online before you arrive. Once on site, you’ll just take a quick quiz to confirm you’ve watched and understood the video, and you’ll be good to go.
Just bring your ID and a credit card for the security deposit—we’ll take care of the rest.
🦺 2. Gear Up
Next up: gear. We’ll get you fitted with a DOT-approved helmet and go over what else you need for a safe and comfortable ride. All riders are required to wear eye protection—this can be goggles, safety glasses, sunglasses, or prescription glasses.
We also recommend covering your face to protect against dust, mud, and trail debris. Bandanas and neck gaiters work great—and we sell both in our office if you forget to bring your own.
Make sure you’re also wearing closed-toe shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting a little dusty. If you have questions about what to wear or bring, just ask—we’re here to help.
🗺️ 3. Trail Overview & Tips
Before you head out, we’ll review the trail system with you to make sure you’re set up for the best ride possible. We’ll go over a paper map with you and highlight a route based on your rental length, riding experience, and what kind of terrain or scenery you’re looking for.
We’ll also walk you through the Polaris Ride Command system, which is built into every machine. This digital mapping system shows your real-time location on the trails, making it easy to stay on course and explore confidently.
Whether you want scenic views, smoother forest paths, or a little more adventure, we’ll make sure your route matches your goals.
✅ 4. Safety Briefing & Vehicle Walkthrough
Now that you’re geared up and know where you’re going, it’s time to get familiar with your ride. One of our experienced staff members will give you a hands-on safety briefing and walk you through how to operate the machine—throttle, brakes, reverse, and more. Never ridden before? No problem. We make sure you feel confident before you roll out.
🛻 5. Hitting the Trail
Time to ride! Whether you booked a few hours or a full day, you’ll have plenty of time to explore scenic views, forest paths, and exciting stretches of trail. Go at your own pace—there’s no pressure to go fast, and no guide required unless you request one in advance.
📸 6. Return & Recap
Once you’re back, we’ll check over the machine with you and make sure everything looks good. Have photos or videos? Share them with us—we love seeing our guests in action! (We even feature some of them on our social media 👀)
